I am still saving for Mikes 4 into 4 system. But if anyone has a picture of the drivers side footbox area I'd appreciate it. I want to make sure all of my brake lines and wiring etc have enough room for the headers. I want to see how much room is between the aluminum on the foot box and the closest header pipe. (It is where I mounted my adj prop valve for the rear brakes.)

Also how close are the header portion to the right side (Gas pedal side) of the drivers side foot box.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey there Cory, I ran the brake lines down the front of the drivers side foot box and the Tri-State headers leave plenty of room all the way around the foot box on both sides.

Here is a shot of the brake lines befor the headers were installed.

OK ... I cant hold out any longer... is it possible to take Mikes side pipes and turn the tip outward like the FFR's instead of down towards the ground... Maybe I'd have to cut and reweld... Ok Ok im picky... but i just dont like the downward tiped end!

Rgds

Rob

PS: Hey Pat hows the install comming!!!!

don,

What kind of clearance is between your brake lines and the headers? I just started installing mine and will be moving some wiring in addition to the brake lines. Maybe I am over concerned.

What would be too close for brake line to header distance?

Thanks

Don. I am begging here I know, but do you have a close up of the distance between the lines and the headers. A little closer up of the top picture I guess is what I am looking for....

Cobra Cory,

Not sure if this helps but I have 2 1/4" clearance between the Tristates Headers and Driver side foot box on my 351W.

Most excellent picture. Thanks. It is just what I needed.
I mounted my Adjustable proportioning valve right where your tape is... .

My TriStates seem a bit closer than 2.25 inches. I will check. What do we think th eminimum distance from header to brake line should be?

Don:

Damn! That looks good! Hey, I also like the turkey pan. I have a 351W as well and have been thinking about going this way. Where did you get it?

Pat, I am also taking the plunge with the Tri-States 4 into 4's. Any pearls of wisdom about your retro install? How do they really sound?

And another question is if you already have headers and a J-Pipe, how hard is it to get them off and the new headers on? Is there enough room by the drivers leg to get to the header bolts with a wrench? Must be pretty tight in there?

I saw a show with Jessie James. Since the Suv's are taller than the Harleys, he now turns the pipes upwards so they aim at the windows
