Question

Does anyone know where I can get a speedometer cable? I have a 3 3/4" mechanical speedometer Autometer gauge (part #4493). I am using it in a fox body mustang.

I am looking to buy a cable, but not sure where to find one.

Also, if anyone knows the measurement on it, that would help me out a lot.

Thanks!
Jeff

I got mine from Mike at Tri-State Motorsports...he'll know which length to send you.

You may also need the speedo gear. I got that from Five Star Ford. If you need it, you'll have to know which one. I had a post recently about speedo gears...there was a link to a site that has a calc to help you figure out which one you need.

I have the same speedometer you do. I had a speedo shop in California make mine for around $40. They can custom make the cable with either end that fits to the transmission. The two choices are with a VSS or the direct connect to the speedometer driven gear. I'll try to find the invoice and post their name and number.

I found a Auto Zone part # here. I think Richard Oben posted the # and it was about $15-$16. It was for a 1985 F150 and I think it was the longest one listed.
