For those leaving on Friday, from the Bay Area, our route has been changed due to heavy pressure from undisclosed sources......

The new plan is...

We will meet at Athen's Burger in Dublin. We will leave at about 7:00 for a 1 1/2 - 2 hour drive to the Santa Nella turn-off on highway 5 and highway 152. We'll rondevous and have breakfast at the Mission Inn (South West corner of the intersection) at about 9:00 am.

After breakfast we'll head direct to KNOTT's via Highway 5 (By-passing Santa Barbara as originally planned) for a 2 nights (Friday 11th and Sat.
12th.)at ther Marriott Courtyard.

We will leave Sunday after noon and head to
Santa Barbara for dinner overnight and a liesurely breakfast and departure mid-
morning back to the Bay Area.

If you have Reservations for April 11th in Santa Barbara cancel them and make your reservation at the Marriott Courtyard as soon as possible the rooms could book fast. I called the Marriot yesterday and they still had "Kings" available..
(714)670-6600.

Please post so we know how many are going from NORCAL and meeting where? When?.. and all that stuff.

Thanks,

"Mr. Potato Head"

Looks like a done deal this year. We're set for the Marriot and the ride down. Will be leaving for home Sunday a.m., however.

Only hangup, the car is down to the bare frame!

I got tired of looking at the faded brown carpet and the Wayne Presley Prowler Purple frame. So now the frame is silver and the interior is grey. The "puttin' together" starts tonight.

Brought back to the top. As of Saturday's breakfast at Athens Burger the discussion once again shifted back to caravaning through San Jose via 101 and meeting us coasters in Salinas. From my MapBast route research, Salinas to Buena Park is about 6 hrs. Some expressed a desired ETA Knotts by 3-4PM. Tossing in a gas stop and one eat stop (say breakfast on your own, lunch along the way) I would think we all would need to meet in Salinas by 7:30 AM, no later than 8AM. Comments/alternatives ?

Al,
Meeting in Salinas by 8:00am for us Athens crowd seems like it might be a little difficult with the A.M. commute to contend with. This would mean that we have to eat breakfast by 6:30am. Just a thought, what do you think? Are we not going to stop for Breakfast? That was the plan for the Highway 5 route.

Options are open.... if the group votes for breakfast in Salinas that's fine. It's about 1 hr 15 mins to 1 1/2 hrs from Athens to there. That means leaving by 6 AM or so. Will traffic be that bad at that time? I would think once you're south of 280 it should get light. Don't you think?
