I decided yesterday that today was finally the day. Picked up an engine hoist and some chain and appropriate bolts etc. I removed the upper intake manifold. When it warmed up enough to face the outdoors today I cleaned up the shop area and the car. Things went very well once I realized the the lift point needs to be forward quite a bit so the end of the transmission hangs low. I now realize why they make the device that lets you tilt the engine in mid air. My 15 y.o. son helped with steering and nudging the transmission and we got it in uneventfully. I needed to put the chain on the passenger motor mount to lift it slightly to let the drivers side drop a bit further and it seems very even now. I'll know for sure when the headers are bolted up.

Here's the installed engine

finally a view of the transmission....real close fit between the diagonal frame and the shifter. I had my doubts for a while whether or not it would clear. On the driver's floor you see the base pan of the Breeze adjustable seat track giving 7 degrees elevation in the front

putting the motor in really gives you a feeling of accomplishment, and makes your frame look a little bit more like a car. congrats, vince

Congrats!

Just curious, what's the hole in the floor for, at the bottom of the second picture?

Hawk,
That's the FFR standard e-brake location. Some guys are moving theirs. Do a search and you'll find threads on moving it to the top of the tunnel behind the shifter as well as moving it to the driver's left between the seat and door. The issue with the FFR location is remembering to release it before you put your belts on! You can't reach it once you're cinched up.
