Larry:

Thanks for all the time and effort keeping the Handy Posts updated, they have been really helpful during my build.

I noticed lately that many of the Handy Posts do not come up when clicked. Instead, I get a message that I have requested "a topic that doesn't exist." Some examples:
"Clutch," "Heater/Defroster" and "Foot Box Vents." Lots of others too. Is it possible that the threads are too old and are now archive-only and that is why they arent coming up? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks again.

Tom

You are right and thank you.
Some are dead; Paul Rudolph is working on those.
I had e-mail contact with him last week.

Guys, sorry. i did have a collection of great posts that Larry incorporated into the handy posts. Tom hit the nail on the head as to why some of them aren't working. When the archive took place alot of the links now point to an invalid location. I thought the fix would be easy, being changing the forum location in the URL but it appears the topic number has changed as well from the archiving process. I'm going to try and do searches in the archives and see if I can rebuild the info. It may take a while to do that but hopefully I can remember what the posts looked like and get it all together again. (Some I may never get back. i.e. the brake links. I could do a search on brakes but that would bring up way too many hits to sort through)

Sorry, it was a great compilation and was going to come in handy.

Paul

Please add:
What to do when the young blonde female in car next to you at the lights trys to get yout attention but your wife is in the passenger seat.
Also:
How you deflect questions such as,
Is it a real one ?
How much did it cost ?
How fast does it go ?

Also we need a support section on how to deal with the attention when driving and how not to excede your current hat size with all complements you receive.

Dave ,
We need another HANDY POSTS for DRIVERS for after the build is done. Good idea. I have to deal with some of those issues as well.

Larry:
This is a great reference, thanks a lot!
What about a thread on power steering (I picked the “installation of Heidt’s…” from your initial post & it told me “You have requested a topic that does not exist”!), being this isn’t in the manual, it would sure be helpful if there were some information on this.
It would also be nice to see some information on how to go about polishing valve covers, intake manifolds & other aluminum parts.
Thanks again Larry.

Larry,

Thanks for all the work !!!! Is there some way this info can be accessed from the main post page ? Like under " Post a Reply " next to faq ? That would be easier to find. Some people new to the forum may not even know this exists. Thanks again for so much hard work here.

Can you add wipers? There has been lots of discussion as to best to use, but until you decide to add wipers, it is a bear to find the
archives.

This has to be the best thing I have seen yet on
the forum. It is a MUST to keep.

Thanks.....

Tim Whittaker ,
Thank you for the compliments. The dedicated button suggestion has been submitted to Bill Pierce, the Forum's Administrator.

Ghost ,
I agree WIPERS is a good subject. Care to do some research and submit threads?

Keep them ideas flowing...this Forum is here to promote the building of FFR's. Ideas that improve that capability are always welcome!

Larry,

I think you should re-revise this HANDY POSTS now, many of the links are dead.

Some of the galleries still alive by my suggestion to move them!

Cool

Larry, is there a way to keep this post alive for constant reference? It's too good to loose!

This post is brought to the top every once in a while so we don't lose it on an archive sweep.

However, the referenced threads don't all get brought up so they get lost.

If people brought up referenced threads whenever they look at them, that would help.

It is the last date posted that determines the Archive sweep.
