FFR3772 has sat on the back burner for the past 6 months (Too Long) and now that my 2 1/2 car workshop is complete, its time to get back into finishing the project.

I'm not happy with the Braking performance of the
1984 Jeep Cherokee MC.

I only have 50 miles of drive time and have bled the Brakes 3 times.

Guess I should've Bench bled my Jeep M/C.

What is it specifically you are not happy with?

Hard pedal?
Soft pedal?
Won't lock up?

What is your brake combination? Stock disk/drum?

Did you do the pedal mod to increase mechanical leverage?

Did you make sure the MC pushrod does not scrape on the MC, i.e., free in-out movement?

Is your MC pushrod 5.5" center of circle to end?

Larry,

Here's my setup.

SN95 IFS w/ new rotors and rebuilt Calipers.

89' Super Coupe Rear w/ new rotors and rebuilt Calipers.

Did the Brake pedal Mod.

I used the stock 90' Donor pushrod. No Scrapes

Brakes wont "Lock Up"

Thanks for the Reply.

3772 a close sibling to mine...3774!

Speaking of back burners, I haven't even seen my car in two weeks now. Just too damn busy remodeling the house and hard at work here on the job.....Got to go, here comes my Boss!

How many spacers... I tested mine (Jeep with donor push rod)with three and could not bottom out. Two seems OK but I am not on the road yet.

You can still bench bleed the m/c even though it's in the car. Just disconnect the brake lines at the m/c/ and feed flexible tubing from the outlets back into the reservoir. Then reconnect the hard lines and bleed them.

Been awhile since ive had to buy a master cyl, but dont they still come with the little threaded plastic plugs?

I remember cutting between the two rubber hoses (like splicing speaker wire), so that you could could put one in the front resevoir, and one in the back resevoir.

From there, you can sit in the car and bleed the brakes.

3850 has a similar setup, T-Bird rears, Mustang fron, Jeep MC.

No pedal mod.

Mine were terrible at first...they got better and better. (bedding in?) Now they are fine for me.

I am guessing your pads need to be changed to get better action there. 3850 has the cheapest (read: soft) and they work real well for no pedal mod.

Just a thought.
