Trying to fit my new valve covers on. I've got Trick Flow heads, FMS roller rockers (same as Crane Gold), and FMS EFI Cobra valve covers. The baffle under the oil filler interferes, so I took it off, and one of the bosses it mounted too now hits. My question is, what are people doing for clearance? Do you have to grind the bosses down? Does it hurt to run without the baffle or should I grind the bosses down and try to remount or fabricate a baffle? Thanks in advance.

Cool

There are aluminum spacers available or as I have a very thick cork gasket that works great. This is a fairly common issue,I know Tony Branda has the spacers as does Summit Racing Good Luck. Don

I have FMS 1.6 roller rockers with stock valve covers. I'm running with ground down bosses and no baffle. I haven't seen any problems yet and for various reasons I've had the air intake tube off several times. Each time I've looked inside the throttle body to see if I'm sucking oil and so far so good. Clean as a whistle.

Been there done this. I got tired of all the blowby through the breather. Made a mess of everything. Finally got some tall valve covers from Summit. They are not the Cobra covers but some cast aluminum polished jobs. You DO need the breather plate to keep the oil inside the engine.

Thanks for the replies. I want to keep the Cobra valve covers, so I think I'll try to shorten the bosses and then remount the baffle. Will pass along if it works.
