Lee,
You are right on. May I just add a few items?
A well dressed "Flinger" must have the appropriate gear: A DVSF II really, really cool Hat - of course we suggest the Caps that Phil Manro has designed and will be selling here as wll as "THE" T-shirt, then Phil has also stepped forward, supplying us with water bottles, (great for those long hot trips in the Cobra), mouse pads, and my favorite new item...Coffee Mugs with the DVSF II logo.
People, I strongly suggest you bring at least one FSR radio. You know we have over 500 people coming this year and most likely 300 Cobras! (Can you believe that!?) Trying to communicate, outside and with the noise of the cars is litteraly impossible just using a bull horn. For those that didn't make the first Fling, we move..a lot. Plus there is always something going on.
I just don't have a better idea to keep everyone informed at all times, of everything going on. If you have the radio, or do get one for the Fling, we will be on Channel " 4-27"
And, last but not least by any means, we need Chocolate Chip Cookies! I mean, it was these little critters that started the entire Fling scenario. I would venture to say we had over a 1,000 Cookies from all over the country last year and within a 1/2 hour they were all gone! We just have to have more cookies!
We are the biggest, baddest, loudest, group to ever hit London and Columbus and Xenia! Has the reality of 300 Cobras rumbeling into town at one time hit you yet? I swear I thought I had seen it all when we fired up 165 Cobras last year, now it's almost doubled! I swear I am shaking at the thought of it.
Somebody STOP ME! I can't, let me tell you just one little story about last years trip into town. Mrs. DV and I were about the middle of the convoy pulling into Lake Choctaw, I'd guess maybe 60 or so Cobras were in front of us, as we pulled into the Lake, at 8:45 AM, people were running out of there houses to watch the parade and some were in their PJ's for cryin' out loud! All were giving the thumbs up.
Ok, one more. The cruise right through Columbus, Sunday afternoon, full Police escort with cruisers and Harley beacons a-flashing. People in restaurants were grabbing their food and running outside to watch this "most awesome" parade they had ever seen. Clapping, whistling, thumbs up were the norm.
Oh my...one month away! Think I had better get back to work!
DV -- We really need your support and attendance!
Have you registered? Please buy your raffle tickets and.... BRING CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!
Wade: That is awesome! Can we slap the DVSF II logo on that snorkel somewhere?
