Well now I am really confused.. Not really that hard to do...BUt contacted the SP today and asked some questions about what paper work I would need..

They tell me if I buy it from a private party I would need to retitle in my name for them to except it..(I thought I could just get it signed over pull the parts and scrap it) Is this correct do I really need to retitle in my name??

They also tell me that I cannot purchase salvaged parts from anyone other than a class 3 dealer or the yard itself..Was going to buy my parts from a company that refurbishes used parts....Is this correct??

Last but not least they tell me that if I purchase parts from a out of state yard without a title..It might create problems??Don't know what that means..He tells me that some of the bigger out of state yards have been cleared...but the ones that haven't might take a while to verify if they had to???

Who has titled a car in mass..Can you please tell me ..What you had to supply as paperwork?..Where did you get your parts??? and how did you do it???

thanks in advance

YOu can give me an email shout if you like as I went the path that it appears that you are going. If you get ANY donor (especially from NY), get it retitled in MA as soon as possible... yes, do this even if you are going to send the "car" to the junk yard. The title in MA will make the ownership path clearer

I bought and titled my donor in MA, never registered it. Titling it showed the Troopers that I owned it and that I payed sales tax on it, don't think there is much other reason for doing it than that.
