1. If FFR is sending a new steering column, do I still need any part of the donor one?
2. Is a 4 cyl. wiring harness the same as a 5.0 except for the engine compartment?
3. Any way to tell what the gear ratio is in a T-5?

Answers:

1) No, if the FFR supplied column is the one-pice (no weld) design.

2) Don't know

3) http://www.fortesparts.com/tremec/t5.html

Don't you still need the upper steering shaft from the Mustang; the part where the steering wheel attaches? Or has FFR gone to a 1-piece shaft from the rag joint to the steering wheel?

If they haven't gone to an all one piece, can a 4cyl steering shaft be used? My donor has the tilt wheel and so I'll need to pick up a non tilt from a junk yard methinks.

David smith talked briefly about this when he was on the chat room a week or so ago. IF i remember correctly, he said they had done away with the need for the donor part on the steering column.

you can review the chat transcript or just call them and ask..

report back about what you found out.

A 4 cylinder, non-tilt steering column will work. I'm curious about what FFR has changed. The spec racer always came with a one piece lower shaft; no welding the donor shaft. I thought they had just made the one piece lower standard on the roadster.
