Mercury Mountaineer question

Are all the 95-99 mountaineers V-8??

I get a mailing from a salvage seller and he has them from time to time. But his info never tells any details about his vehicles except year. AND, its to far to drive to look at a v-6.

I have been told the upscale Mountaineer ONLY came with a 302 V8. You should also be able to find one in the 2000 models but I would check. Happy hunting!

Go to www.kbb.com and look up the used mountaineers and you will see that some were available with 4.0 V-6 engines. The first year 1997 only shows the V-8 option. If the salvage dealer can tell you the VIN# you should be able to tell the motor from that.

I got one from Garry's Auto Salvage in Panama City in May 2000 for $1000. I live within their shipping area so I got it shipped to me for free. [img]smile.gif[/img] Call Kevin at 850-763-4778 and ask if they have any engines he could ship one to you.
