I just got my side pipes back from the coater. I had them done is a polished aluminum. They look fantastic. I had the Roll Bars and Quick Jacks done at the same time.
I had them done at G&T High Performance Coatings in Fredericksburg VA. Great guys to work with and the price is pretty reasonable with quick turnaround.

Thanks timely post I was looking for a local shop to do my coatings. Do you mind telling us what the damage was (I'm way over budget : ).
Cheers,
Chandler
I haven't seen the silver from Jet Hot but would expect that it is the same type coating. These guys also have what they call an aluminum chrome that they don't polish. One of the reasons I didn't go with Jet Hot is a friend of mine with a SuperPerformance had his done and didn't think thay looked very good. It also cost as much to have just the sidepipes as it cost to everything I had coated.
I'm thinking of sending my headers and J-Pipes to them. I would also spend more time with the die grinder prepping the welds to look better in a polished state. I'll try to get pics tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks Ben
Do you have the contact info? What did you decide to do with the headers? Where is Forest VA? Can I ask any more questions? : )
Cheers,
Chandler
You said the pipes were coated with Cerma Chrome?
I had my airplane engine cylinders Cerma Chromed about 10 years ago. I would assume it is the same process so I would guess it should stand up to the heat pretty well. Did you specifically ask about the ability to stand up to the heat? How long have they been doing Cerma Chrome and with what results? The shop that did my cylinders was ECI Engine Components Inc. Why do people shy away from Chome in lieu of the ceramic. Is it the "Blueish" tendencies and/or surface temps?
Many of the rodders in my area are having this done as a treatment. I don't know if it's the same product as the cylinder coating. I never had to have the cylinders in my a/c redone. These guys do pretty much just automotive exhaus/intake items. The cars I've seen with this treatment had no bluing of the steel.
I'm also having the headers and J-pipes done.
