went to the track last nite...

the AOD was a nice improvement. i drove to the track and switched to the slicks/skinnys and first pass shifted from 1st to OD and let out, ran a 7.62 @ 77 w/ 1.57 60', next pass went from 1st straight to drive and let out, ran a 7.42 @80 w/1.56, then i figured out the AOD shuffle... sort of and ran a 7.30 @93.5 w/ 1.60, last run i decided to put it in D and let the trans shift on its own, backed it up with another 7.30 @ 93.3 w/ 1.65. all in all in tickled pink! the car ran great and still has a/c, ps, pb, pw, pdl, cruise!

the convertor locking up is killing the car, it looses around 1000-1500 rpms (ill have to review the logs to know for sure) when going from 2nd to drive/DD (happens at the same time) next steps will include a custom convertor w/o lockup and a silverfox valve body, either a trutrac or detroit and possibly a 3.27 gear. i think the car has a 7oh with a little more tuning... but i think the above and a tubular K-member will put me in the 6's nicely!

it was a good nite.

theres been a change in plans. over the winter im gonna get a 9.5" non-lock billet convertor from RevMax and the SPT-R valve body from silverfox, that should put me solidly into the 6's. i will update on the results from the parts and my thoughts on them.

Its always dangerous in night to go Tracks, specially when you are new to race. Experts of all types always advice this. Another reason is you don't know the language of tracks. And may be you are dismissed before you get expertise.
