Question for Kumho XS 315/35R17, 17X10.5 rear rims users.

I have seen posts that the Kumho XS are wider than other brands.

I have fox width rear and am concerned about fender subbing at the Autocross.

IF you are running a Fox rear end, 17X10.5 rims with a +27 offset, 6.84 backspacing with Kumho XS 315/35R17 tires please give me some input.

John

that's what I run on my Mk1 (w/ 315 mods). I usually auto-x on A6's, but have done a couple fun runs on the XS's and they didn't rub.

They fit great on the front with no rubbing!

Good on the back also, but look a little small:

I love the look John, but the price of the rims was just one more budget buster.

I found your post with the picture of the Kumho XS and the Sumitomo's side by side. You can see the XS are a little wider. 335/35/17

I looked on the Tire Rack's website to see the specs on the Kumhos and the Sumitomo's. Would you know it according to there webiste there measured exactly the same?? GO Figure.
Kumho Ecsta XS

Sumitomo HTR Z

John,
FYI, I don't know if it's due to the mold release or ??? but the XS are greasy as can be until you get a couple hundred miles and a few heat cycles in them, so don't panic if your first driving impression is less than stellar. The more they wear the better they stick.

I read a warning that 500 miles need to be on them to wear out the mold release.. Thanks for the FYI. Now I have to decide on the front.
