MERCEDES 280sl 1983 "euro car"

I've got too many "irons in the fire" at the moment as I am trying to finish other project cars, so some stuff has got to go.......

1983 Mercedes 280SL "Euro-version" Grey market car.

126000 miles, same owner for the past 23 years This Mercedes has the very durable 2.8 liter in-line six cylinder engine with PS, PB and with a automatic transmission.
The transmission was replaced with a re- manufactured transmission less than
10000 miles back.
All service records since 1989 (60k miles) and the important EPA release docs.
Car always cared for by local Mercedes experts (me )
Has the desirable euro headlights and sleek chrome bumpers
Just had oil & filter service and new interstate battery installed

The soft top is old, but still very usable.
The Hardtop is in VGC.
The left front fender is needing some rust repair.
Starts right up with no smoke or any engine noises.
No major leaks, and the brakes & suspension still in good shape.
This SL is in need of a A/C compressor, which I have priced the replacement part around $220.00 (have part number and source)

Overall, this is still a solid, dependable driver that you can enjoy.
The car is located in Topeka Kansas.

Reasonably priced at: $4300

You can see the rust in this pic right under the turn signal and lower edge of the fender.

12 cars in the stable and a lack of is my dilemma right now.
I'm basically selling the SL to help fund the restoration of my wife's Trans-Am.
Hoping the "attractive" asking price will make for a quick sell.

If business was better, I'd keep it as it is like driving a small tank.

Drive it home for $4,000

A decent older miata would cost you as much.
