I am new to building cars so I have some basic questions.
I noticed on the GTM forum that they referred to fit/finish and paint would run 10k plus.

Is this where the body shop actually performs the work for gaping the doors/trunk/hood, smooths out imperfections in the body, then paint?
If so, all i would need to do is bolt everything on and they shop would do the rest?

that's correct. I am doing Dave Borden's car in the next few weeks and will have a good idea what time and materials will look like and will have an exact price on my website for the GTM's. right now, it's kinda up in the air, but for a top quality job, if you have hung the parts but they still need trimming and fitment work, a single color I am guessing will run between $7-$9k. with stripes could be as much as $10K. this is still up in the air like I said so don't quote me on it but a good average should be about $8500. cheers, SRP

Thanks for the answer. I will post again at the end of the month to see if your estimate is close.

Hey SRP. How close was your estimate. Not sure if you are done yet but thought you might have a good idea by now.

Hey SRP,

Now that you have been working on David's car do have a better idea of what the cost is going to be like to do fit/finish and paint?

I believe if you go to Ken's website, costs are posted for the GTM. Just click on pricing and then click for the pdf file.

if I do all of the fitment work, including installing the rear hatch hinges, door hinges, nose hinge, latches, side windows etc, then do the body and paint work and reinstall and align the body panels, plan on spending $10k. more if we do stripes, less if you do all of the fitment and assembly work. fitment and assembly work adds up to about $3000. cheers, SRP

I think that is a very fair price for all that work. Thanks for sharing Ken. Too bad you are so far away or I would be in line at your shop!
