Just a quick post to introduce Todd Hinckley's newly painted car. It's a Ken Pike special, Ferrari red with white stripes and blue "rookie stripes". We just arrived back in town about 8 hours ago.

Enjoy...

I'm sure that Todd'll tell you about the trip later. Let's just say that his go-cart met up with a snow storm in Nevada on the way out to Yuba City on Thursday.

Hey Larry,
Ken did a fantastic job. He is extremely detail oriented and his work is amazing! Thanks Ken!
It is nice to be home safe and sound. I really want to thank Jim for taking a couple days off work to take the 700 mile one way trip with me to Ken's shop to pick it up.

The red is BRIGHT! The nice thing about it is that it doesn't pick up that orange tint even under indoor lighting. The pearl really looks nice in the sunlight! It has been fun today to take friends and family for rides around the block.

Oh Larry, By the way the blue is some Rolls Royce/Superformance color that you may be familiar with?

Sergio, this color would look pretty good wrapped around the guts off your 03 donor!

Now to finish it in the next month and get it licensed in time for some sprint I mean spring driving!

Todd

Todd
It was nice to meet you Friday. The car looks great. You have to see the car live to appreciate how great the Ferrari Red paint looks and the workmanship on the rest of the build.
Hope the storm wasn't too bad.

Here's another pic of Todd's car showing the rookie stripes. By the way, that's the proud owner in the background video taping his pride and joy.

Thanks to all for the compliments! I am glad to be home. The trip out through Wells Nevada was a bit ugly as Jim eluded to. Jim took some great video's of the snow storm we drove through and the nice weather in California. We got the needed parts of the car cleaned up when we got there and the rest I'll do when I can stop driving it around the neighborhood. We expected to hit some showers on the way back, but we got lucky and didn't get rained on at all.

It was great to meet both Jay Sherman and Ken Aoki at SRP's place. I'll bet if one were to just hang out at Ken's shop you would be able to meet a ton of FFR owners. It seems like the FFR watering hole.

I really like the Rookie stripe Ken did, it gives it a great variation. I would recommend them to anyone thinking about adding one.

Thanks for posting the pictures Jim.

Todd

Todd,
I'd be delighted to paint my "Violent Venom" project this gorgeous Color! (maybe I will).

I see that Ken did the Rolled Cockpit edges treatment, he removed also the side mounting bolts and holes, also performed his magic under the hood and trunk...what else?

Looks very Nice, I tell you again.

You have a couple of weeks to finish it up and bring it to Knotts !!

ohhh! I just noticed the riveted hoodscoop. cool

Todd - just fair warning, I'm stealing your color combo - you posted the colors earlier and I IMMEDIATELY wrote them down. The car is absolutely georgeous!

All the best,

Todd, I picked up my black w/silver car from Ken the day after you left for Utah. I'd seen you car before when I was at Ken's. If I han't just sold a Rangoon Red '64 Fairlane, I probably would have chosen the same red as you for my FFR. Great looking car. Rick

If you are ever in Utah Sergio come by and check out the color in person. Pictures do not show the brightness of red. It would look good in the California sun!

Whoa! Larry I haven't graduated yet! I still have some work to do before graduation. I will let you know when I am ready to be put on the graduation list with some finished pictures.

Shodan, It is fine if you steal my color combo, well just as long as you don't live too close. Carmichael should be far enough away.

Rickar, I saw your car waiting in the wings to be picked up. It looked great! Congrats on the great looking paint job. Ken does great work doesn't he.

Todd

Congrats Todd, That looks awesome. Can't wait to go for a little spring drive myself. We should all get together and go for a cobra parade to Gateway or something. Let me know if you need some help to finish her up. Once again, it looks killer. Tom
