I found a very cool (IMHO) pearl orange while cruising the Corvette forum. I think it would look great on a Cobra. It is a 2003 Lamborghini Pearl Orange:
You could create a similar effect by shooting a bright orange like GM Hugger Orange and then shooting some Gold Pearl over it. You could also shoot some Arctic White stripes before shooting the whole thing with the Gold Pearl for an even better look.
Dupont Hot Hues Candy Orange w/silver base stripes
base color/code: Dupont Hot Hues Candy Orange on silver base
trim color/code: Same silver base
wheels and tires: OE wheels Cobra Replica DD gunmetal center
who painted the car: Ken Pike SRP
other body mods made: Package #3
I am trying to pick the orange I want. I went over to a paint supplier and tore through every sheet from 1959 to 2002. The Hugger Orange that Batman suggested looks a little too red, Calypso Coral is a little red also. I really like the 1974 Bright Orange that was on the Camaros.
I just need to find my orange. Im going to have Orange with Oxford White stripes outlined in Raven Black with Grabber Blue rookie stripes. Trying to keep all the colors period-ish correct.
Oh, and I know there are more than three orange Cobras on here. Post em up boys.
Jeff painted my car, so he will know. It's Hugger Orange. It looks a little red in that photo, but it's not. That's something I didn't want either! Look at the pics from Coronado http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/20659430
The shot in there of my car is very close to it's real shade! Everyone comments about how different it is, that they have never seen an orange one!
I love it and it still looks great after 10k miles!

Not sure of the DuPont paint code (I can dig through my records if anyone is interested), but the color is actually called Bondurant Orange. It's a non-metallic color, in case you're looking for something that's a bit "period" looking.
