Still on the David Thompson Hwy

Finally arrived at Chateau Lake Louise for our overnight stay. View from our room.

Another photo op in front of the hotel. This actually turned into a car show.

Aside from the great company, this was the second best part of the trip. We cruised down the Bow Valley Parkway. Its 60 km's of up and down and twisty roads. SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, sorry for the bugs on the windshield. There was no shortage of those.

Sunday drivers! I am off Fridays and that's when I usually travel that road. You have got to be careful on that stretch. There can be a lot of livestock "at large" on the road as well the odd local staggering from ditch to ditch.
Down highway 40 and over the Highwood pass has always been a favourite of mine. Good burgers at the hotel in Black Diamond.

Perry, you have to let me know when you're headed down this way. I would have driven out for the photo op.
Cheers

Great road trip. Love the photos. Thanks for sharing! I have been on all those roads many times. Great memories for me as well but hope to do it in the roadster one day.

It's great to see people out enjoying driving these cars! That's why I built mine but it is still funny to see how surprised some people are to hear that you might have actually driven 300-400 miles on the highway or (god forbid) drove it on the BC Ferry!!!

This is the second year in a row for a group from Edmonton doing a tour to Lake Louise. For us it is about a 1000km or 600 mile weekend trip. We are all lucky to have wife's that will join us on a road trip like this. Looking forward to next year.

Looks like a great weekend for you guys. Sorry to have missed it. Glad the weather cooperated for you. Next year we will join in.

We went to Waterton in the roadster the weekend before. 1200 km of perfect weather and great roads.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Geoff
