Anybody in Southern Ontario have a trailer I can borrow or rent to pick-up my kit ?
The adventure continues - just got my Transport Canada approval letter this morning - only took a week, so now I'm making arrangments to pick up the kit and was wondering if anyone has a single axle trailer I could borrow or rent for a couple of days ? Will trade beer or manual labour to help with your build if necessary

Good luck with that. I went through the same process a month ago. Truck rentals were rediculous (U haul wanted $.65/kilometer for the 1900km round trip). Uhaul does rent trailers but my vehicle wasn't rated for the weight of the trailer plus the kit. If your vehicle has a hitch and is rated for 3000lb towing or more then you could just rent a trailer.
I'm going to use my wife's Mazda CX-7 - it's rated for 3000 lbs so I'm looking for a lightweight single axel trailer. So far I can get a 6 X 12 double axle open utility trailer from U-Haul - it's only $30 a day but it weighs 1,700 lbs !!! I figure the weight of the kit plus boxes will be close to 1,000 lbs so I'm cutting it close. Would be nice to find a trailer that weighs less than 1,000 lbs but U-Haul is my back-up plan. Hoping to travel down Sunday, do the factory tour Monday morning, load up and drive back to arrive sometime around midnight !!!
Look for places that rent trailers and get a snowmobile trailer. Mine weighted 500 lbs and rated 2200 lbs, and I took the front spoiler off ajd had a spare. All the 19 boxes fitted in the back if my minivan.

You can check with FFR but I expect the kit is less than 1300 LBs. 3 of us lifted the frame off the trailer and the boxes aren't really too bad. Remember the engine, rear axle, tranny and other suspension parts are not included and they add up to a huge portion of the 2100LB finished weight of the car. I think you will be fine.
Rented a 1700 lb double axle 6 X 12 from U-Haul, drove down Sunday, picked-up the kit Monday, toured the factory, met Dave and the crew and drove back - got stuck 90 mis at the Queenston-Lewiston bridge then spent 20 minutes explaining to the CBSA the difference between a car and chassis kit, and another 5 minutes explaining to the cashier how the vehicle would eventually be titled - it turns out they were asking these questions to try and only charge me 5% GST instead of the 13%, but 13% is what I ended up paying !
The chassis/body would not sit inside the trailer, so it had to be perched on top, which worked well and meant I could put all the boxes underneath. My son and I managed to unload the body and chassis using a cherry picker with a 5 foot iron bar extension (which we managed to bend in the process) and it did land with a bit of a crash, but no damage thankfully !
All in all a fun experience, now the real fun begins: introducing FFR7848 !!!
Yes. Congratulations! I am at the same stage as you. Picked mine up 3 weeks ago. Still haven't done much but build the body buck and unpack a few things (like the steering wheel) but every time I pass the garage I get an excited feeling in the pit of my stomach.
