New Wrinkle Ontario Licensing

I called my insurance broker to put the full coverage back on the Coupe. I have been told
that it may take up to TWO WEEKS for the company to advise MTO that the policy is in
force before I can get my sticker to Feb. 2013. (At least this time it isn't government that
is dragging its feet) . Needless to say, I'm disappointed that I won't get out this week.

I'll update how long it takes.

who is the Broker?, I know when I changed from fire and theft to on the road (3 months ago), the policy was not recognized at the licensing issuer, they told me I have a one time "we'll do it this time but check out your provider" I later got a letter from the MTO saying check to see if your insured.

Called my buddy Bruce at Cockwell insurance and he mentioned that not all insurance companies are directly on line with MTO and may take a few weeks for them to get the info..no issues still insured during the lag time.

Just a few weeks ago I put a 2 year sticker on it and no issues at all.

I was told the same thing (state Farm). Went to MTO anyway, played dumb and they let it go through but "dont do it again!"

Greetings Angus and Mike!!

Angus, it was Bruce's assistant who told me about the two weeks. I spoke to Sally,
the goddess of homebuilt cars at my local MTO office, and she told me while it was
not unusual to have to wait, my info had been updated in under 48 hours.

Mike, I tried that in February when I renewed my other sticker and they would not
renew the coupe at that time. I bought the 2 year sticker up to Feb. 2014 last
night so at least I'll save the hassle next year.
