I have heard that the stock one vibrates from alot of people but I don't have that problem at all. Guess I must have installed mine incorrectly but I don't have the same vibration issues people talk about. Weird.
I don't have any vibration problems with my dash mounted mirror. It's fastened down to the frame through the body with just a couple of sheet metal screws. Been installed like that for 10 years on the road and no issues at all, even when I nail the throttle.
Maybe I need more HP.......

Alright, the centre mount mirror is pretty much useless - vibrates and too small.
I was wondering if anyone has created clamp on Mirror for Cobras or Convertibles.
This way there is no drilling and you can slide/adjust the position of the centre mirror along the length of the top windshield frame?
Ya i know that may interfere with the top on - but i don't have a top
The rear view (centre) mirror on the top of my windshield is the FFR supplied mirror mounted to the windshield frame using a bracket sold by Dark Water Customs (DWC)
I have driven with the mirror mounted above the dash on the cowl and found it to be a little in the way when negotiating hard right hand turns (hard to make out your 'line'). There is considerable vibration, but mounting it on the windshield doesn't really improve this. The vibration seems to cause me to lose the ability to make out details on cars more than 5-6 car lengths behind (important details like DO THEY HAVE LIGHTS ON THE ROOF??? ). It's still very functional for a quick check behind or backing up. The advantage to the windshield mount is it seems to add to the visible range/span of the stock mirror which is pretty small. I like it up high especially since I have high back seats and dual roll bars. The "Coolest mirror ever" MK4 refers to is undoubtedly a high quality part. I have the matching side mirrors now (not in the pic above) and can attest they are top quality.
