Weekend Drive?

Anyone up for a weekend Cascade Cobra drive? Can we entice the roadmeister Don C. for a route? This great weather is too good to waste.

Was thinking about lunch at the golf course at the Resort at the Mountain on Sunday.
Meet at the Onion at 10 and pick any interested parties from the northern contingent at the DQ at Troutdale Rd. and Stark St. about 10:30. Out the Old Highway to Springdale and then in to Barlow Trail and the golf course.
The only drawback to Stevenson and back in over the mountain via Hood River is that Hwy 35 has been pretty torn up for a long time now and I don't think they have it fixed yet.

Don C. I forgot about Hwy 35 being in bad shape. I think Mel & I are heading down to the beach Sat.? Sundays are hard to make for us this time of yr. Looks like great weather no matter which direction a person goes. Have fun all & enjoy the ride!!

I drove Marmot road, Barlow trail, and every other road up there last Sunday. They repaired the sink holes that were forming on Marmot road. Met a group of guys driving motorcycles (cruisers and crotch rockets) and we were playing follow the leader, had a lot of fun.

Looks like the weather is going to continue to cooperate so I'd say it's a go.
Anyone else thinking about coming along please post so we know who to wait for if you're a few minutes late.

Thanks to all for another fun drive and good company in the books. Beautiful day out today. Sorry about the confusion coming back. I thought Don was going to take Marmot road back to Ten Eyck road and straight in to Sandy while I take Ten Eyck the opposite direction to Lusted road thru Dodge Park. Thanks again everyone.
Thomas

Wow, what a day. Started out with good weather and it just got better from there.
By the time we met up at the DQ in Troutdale we had:
Mike H
Butch and Mel
James B
Dave M
Eric and Gloria
Thomas
and me.
The traffic was minimal on the way out and not bad on the way back in.
Our route took us out the Old Gorge Highway to Springdale and then in on Hurlbert, Garden Creek and Bull run to Marmot and the Barlow Trail to The Resort at the Mountain where we had lunch. We sort of separated after lunch with some coming back in 26 while some of us came back in Barlow to 26 and some all the way back in on Marmot and around Douglas Park.
By the time lunch was over it was shirt sleeve weather, clear and sunny.
Put another one in the plus column for good roads great cars and a stellar group of folks.
Thanks all for a great late season run.
Starting at the Onion with Butch photographing the photographer.

First stop at the Troutdale DQ to meet the other half of the group.

All lined up at the golf course.

Lunch at the Mallard.

Da Mob in and around the flowers. Butch wanted to eat them for dessert but we convinced him to let others enjoy them.

Thanks for another great drive Don. Great to see everyone and enjoy the fabulous weather. No problem on the return Thomas. Maybe we have a couple more drives before the rains start.

I forgot to watch out for that dip on the bridge on the way back on Marmot road and heard a loud metal bottom out sound. When I got home I found a bent spoiler, big relief to just grab a tool and bend it back in place. Cheers.

Thomas:
Isn't that always the way? You survived Hwy 53 only to get dinked on a relatively smooth road like Marmot. Glad it wasn't serious.
