Corvette/ Cobra Run

Don - I intend to go on this run, weather permitting. Do you have any additional info, such as where and when it will start, which beaches we hit, lunch, stops, etc. Thanx...Mike

Still waiting for more info on the run. I told my friend about the run, and hope he will bring one of his 8 'vetts along. Would be fun if he & I switched cars for the run.

Haven't seen anything from John yet so here's what we have so far.
Saturday Aug. 11
Meeting place: Champoeg Park south and west of Wilsonville.
Time: 10:00
As I understand it John will be leading over to the coast and then someone from the Corvette Club will be leading back.
No updates on the route or destination at the coast yet.
I've attached a map for Champoeg Park from I5. The exit number is 278. The attached file can be printed out on standard paper if you want to take a copy with you.
It's about 25 minutes from my place in West Linn to Champoeg. If anyone wants to get together and go down as a group we could meet at the Biscuit's parking lot at exit #6 and leave around 9 or 9:15.
Let me know if you want to hook up so I know who to wait for.

FYI...here is what is posted on the Mt Hood Corvette's website;

Join us for a nice half-day trip to the coast (Tillamook) and a late lunch at Camp 18! Leaving Champoeg Park at 10 am and expect to conclude around 3 pm. If you're not going to the 5 Star Event, come join us for a beautiful drive!

So just to clarify, it looks like the departure from Champoeg is 10:00am.

Butch, just in case you are being serious (ha!) or others aren't sure... Biscuits is north of I205 at the 10th street exit (#6), in the Albertson's parking lot.

Eric

Since the start point is at a state park does that mean we have to pay to park there?

Thomas,
If I remember(?) there is a parking area/lot on top/ outside of where you pay to go inside the park? Been a few moons since I was there--

Not so sure Butch. I Google 'drove' to the main entrance and the parking lot is inside. Thomas is also right about state park fees. We had a Lotus drive that went thru Henry Hagg Lake park. One car had a problem. We stopped momentarily to see what needed to be fixed and the ranger was all over us to pay or drive out immediately. If they harass us there is a parking lot for the Newell House museum about 500 ft. further west.

Just spoke with John and it looks like we'll meet at the Newell House Museum parking lot. It's located adjacent to the intersection of French Prairied Rd. and Champoeg Rd.
See you at Biscuit's or the museum tomorrow.

Dave:
Looks like they aren't going to be closing I5 this weekend so you should have a clear shot whichever way you decide to come in.
Are you going to be meeting us as Biscuit's?
