I'm game for just about any time. What's the group's consensus on timing?

(Don't forget, Steve has to drive all the way from Halls...)

6:30. I was walking this evening at 7:30 and thinking how dark it gets quickly. Sunset is 7:44.

Thanks. That works better as I still have some assembly to do.

If I get a chance I may drive up to the autocross to say hi but I won't have time to compete.

Doesn't matter to me, but I can't make it this Friday anyway. Much more important stuff to do. It is my Granddaughter's 3rd birthday and we are going to Pigeon Forge and pretend to be tourists for a day or so.

Not sure I can have the car ready in time. Work sure does seem to get in the way of fun.

The family may show up to say hi and get ice cream anyway.

Sorry I missed it guys. I had an appointment @ the Tire Barn on Kingston Pike around 4pm to get my roadster's tires road balanced with tape weights (rather than those ugly rim-edge clip-on weights that are rubbing the PS rear bracket. Got there only to realize I'd forgotten to bring the 3/32" allen wrench needed to remove my fake spinners from the Team III AC wheels. Back to the house through terrible Friday afternoon traffic. Get back to the Tire Barn @ 5 pm. Up goes the car. First thing we found was a large nail sticking in the SIDEWALL of the rear 2.95x50R15 Firestone Indy 500 Firehawk. Can't fix it. Tire has to be replaced. Trouble is, they don't make the tires anymore (and they only have 3600 miles on them). Then we find another nail smack dab in the middle of the thread in the PS rear tire. Fortunately, it is fixable... Then the PS rear tire won't road balance... best they can get is 30 lbs... By the time this was all over... it was almost 7 PM and I had to get the car back into the barn ASAP to avoid the DS rear going flat where we had pulled the nail out of it.

Now the "good news"... (1) I had intended to take the car to Fontana Dam tomorrow. It would have been a bad day if it had gone flat on me somewhere on the Dragon... (2) Tire Barn found a new replacement Indy for me for $155. It will be here by mid-week... Now I'm wondering about the PS rear tire....

So... all in all, a bad news / good news story. Sorry I missed the Sonic...

See ya in two weeks!

Sherrell

Sorry I missed last night. As you all know, October weekends is a bear for me this year. We have stuff planned the whole month. Good news is that most of it is fun stuff. Leaving in a few minutes to go Gem Mining with the grandkids in Franklin NC. We are gonna get dirty today! Hopefully, I can make it in a couple of weeks. Sherrell, that sucks about your tires but as you said, better to find out at a tire shop than 3/4 up the Dragon.

Sherrell, we missed Sonic as well - ran out of time. Sorry to hear about the tires! If you can't get the Firestones, maybe a good time for some (softer :-)) Mickey Thompsons or something (?)
