My car is over ten years old now. So I started taking it apart for some upgrades and inspection. Starting at the front end, I am doing the Koni shock upgrade that Shep had won at the Moochfest raffle, and gave it to me for FREE...(Shep is the Man!)...several years ago....And also doing the SAI steering kit mod while I have things apart. I did buy the new style lower control arms for the Konis, and also took off the steering rack so I can change the intermittent shaft. Do you think I should install a new bump steer kit, seeing as I will have the SAI kit in? Next up is brake pads and new upper control arms I think.
After the front is done, I am heading to the back to check all the running gear back there, and do brakes there as well. I figure after 10 years of New England road use it is time to be safe and check everything out. Didn't help that it was 90 degrees, so about a 100 inside the metal building I am in. Whew it was hot in there......

Paul, You're supposed to wait for the snow to do work like that!
Go back and check the owners manual.
Section 1,
paragraph 1,
Rule number 1. "The winters are long and cold. Drive that sucker when the weather is good."
Rule number 2. " If the weather is good and your cobra brakes do the following:
A: pretend you don't notice the problem.
B: Duct tape and/or zip ties
C: If you must resort to wrenches do only enough to get you through the season.
D: Tell your copilot that gas smell is your new aftershave.
E: Missing fiberglass? Tell people you were on the Cape and a shark bit you.
Well since you already have it apart, good luck with the upgrades.
Harvey, yeah but John needed some control arms as he said, so I figured that would be my motivation to finally do this thing. Yes it is still warm but this shouldn't take that long, if I do it in spurts. Do the front first then when there is another lull in the weather I'll do the back end, which shouldn't need much anyway. I think my pan hard bar is a bit loose and that is my main concern right now along with pads, and lube. Also ordered a new MSD coil and think I will try to relocate my Air cleaner a bit further forward, and away from the headers. The supercharger does not like the hot air it is taking in.

Glad to see the Koni's are gonna get some abuse. You'll love how the car handles with the SAI kit installed. Put it on build #2 and was amazed at how differently (better) it handled.
Pretty sure I had Forte's bump steer kit on there - double check to make sure.
Good luck with the rebuild, try to stay cool.

I'm just worried that the SAI kit is going to push the upper control arms out too far. They seem pretty well seated right now. Not much adjustment available to go inward with the arms. that is why I was thinking about getting a new set of upper arms as well. It will be fun to do as I can't find the instructions and links on the Whitby site are not working for it.
I'll post pics when I can sometime this week.
