The "In Search of the Cape Cod Bear Rally" starting at FFR on 9/15
Some of you may remember when I used to put on a fun rally a few years ago for CF based out of the factory.
Well. Here I go again!
After discussing with Dave Smith, we have decided to hold this fall on Saturday, September 15th the "In Search of the Cape Cod Bear Rally".
Starting location will be the Factory. Signup starting at 8:30, Drivers and Copilots meeting at 9:45.
First car off will at 10AM, with teams heading out in 1-3 minute intervals depending on the amount attending
For those of you that don't remember, there was a black bear spotted on the cape this past spring. It was caught and sent out to western Mass. A month later it was spotted again returning to the cape and once again, caught and sent out to western, Mass.
Since then there has spotting's again of this bear so the theme of this rally will be based upon finding clues as to where the bear might be now.
At the start of this event when you pull up to "check out" you will be given a route sheet that you must try to follow and along this route you will be asked to stop and get answers to questions along the way. The teams that can find all of the clues and answers along the route will then move onto a "pool". The teams in that pool will then be judges by their route time.
I will have driven the route abideing exactly by the speed limits. The team that gets all of the answers and closest to the correct time will be the winners.
There will be strict enforcement of no GPS and no Cellphone Navigation allowed. We will have hidden checkpoints along the way so if anyone is caught using them = automatic disqualification.
The route should take less than two hours and the end will be at a not yet determined restaurant in that area.
We hope to have some video footage of the teams at certain locations searching for clues that we hope to show a tthe restaurant.
There will probably be a rain date also.
More details will follow but it would be great to get an idea of how many of you will attend this fun event. The course will be a fun, scenic cruise around the FFR area.
