Hi Gord,I had problems with the idle and since I made some mods to the throttle body primary plates that were getting stuck when they were closed,I saw an improvement. I removed the plates and removed a bit of material around the diameter so when I re installed them I could see the light through, don't know if it's good but they were not grabbing anymore and my idle when down but now I seem to have lost the choke effect.
Before the choke rpm was ok but now it's like it doesn't want to rev high,I didn't touch the choke screw at all.
Did I screw up the plartes, should I change the plates now or order another throttle body.
Apparently they don't sell throttle bodies for 570 Holley Street avenger the auto parts guy hare said, can I get one somewhere,Can I put a bigger throttle body and which one if need be,thanks a lot again !
Hi Gord,
I did the vacuum leak test using propane and apparently I have to use brake cleaner according to a Holley tech support,I will do that this week end and hope that if I find a vacuum leak that I didn't screw up my primary throtte plate,if so I will replace the throttle plates and then the throttle body if nothing works if I can find one !
Vacation? We have been doing 14 hour days around here. Call me on monday so I we can figure out how best to help.

Hi Gord,I just came back from my vacation, sorry to hear that you guys are working so hard, there must be a good reason for it,I work for somebody else so they pay me to go on vacation,I don't have a choice.
My idle is good now but I lost my choke effect when I shaved the circumference of the throttle plates, too much air going through I suppose, next step is too replace the plates but I'm affraid my fast idling problem will come back. The car doesn't start right away when it's hot,it cranks a bit and than starts,i have to depress the throttle pedal a few times to feed it with gasoline, what do you suggest. If you can't answer me I will try to call you when I can, thanks again.
Do you know a source for a new throttle body or do I have have to call Holley, cheers !
You would need to call holley and at least get a part number them you can probably get the part fro Summit.
The hot start issue is all carb set up.

I will ask you another question in the meantime, check my post, cheers !
