How would you deal with a forum vendor/builder who does not want to send replacements for broken parts? These broken parts came with my newly build coupe. Here is my story, with al the facts.
After pulling out my new Type 65 Coupe from the transportation truck in April 2015, I took the time out to inspect it. Several issue were found:
1) The power steering rack was leaking fluid. I first noticed this on the street, as the car was driven away from the truck. (There was also a puddle of power steering fluid on the floor of the transportation truck).
2) The water line/hose in the A/C evaporator (to remove the water from the unit) was missing. Thus, water was dripping from the bottom of the dash, when the A/C was turned on.
3) The Raydot passenger side exterior mirror was broken. Black glue/epoxy was used to hold it together.
4) The oil dip stick handle came broken. (Picture attached).
5) The passenger side Qtr. panel window Plexiglas came with a crack. (Picture attached).
6) The Kirkey seat cover (driver side) came with several tears.(Picture attached).
After notifying the forum vendor/builder on these issues, I was told to take the car to a repair shop. The builder paid for the repairs of the steering rack and the installation of the A/C evaporator water line/hose.
Several weeks later, I received a new Raydot mirror.
I have spoken with this vendor/ builder numerous times, on the phone and e-mails. His e-mail reply on Wed. 4/22/15 was, " They are ordered, I will send them as soon as I get them". Our last phone conversation on this subject was on 12/10/15.
Several months have passed and I am still missing the oil dip stick, the Qtr. panel window Plexiglas & the Kirkey seat cover.
Finally, as these facts show, this forum vendor/builder has not been very cooperative with me. For this reason, I am reaching out to the group, who I know are more experienced that me on dealing with vendors on this forum. I welcome all advises / suggestion on how I should proceed.
