Help with choosing a cam

Hello all, I am getting ready to install the engine in my car, but would like to change the cam out first. The engine is a new Speed O Motive 427W crate that I bought off a gentleman who was going to use it in an old Bronco. He had them change the cam to a comp cams 4x4 grind. I would like to use something more agressive and not have to change out the rest of the valvetrain.

It has AFR 185 heads, a victor jr intake with an Edelbrock Proflow injection system. The car has 3.26 gears and a 3550 trans with 3.27 1st gear and .68 5th gear.

Which of these 2 cams would work better for 99% street and road driving? I plan on calling Speed O Motive as well, but would like to get as much advic as possible. Thanks for any advice.

Current cam
35-239-3 - Xtreme 4 x 4

I'm looking at these 2
35-246-3 - Xtreme Energy
35-250-4 - Xtreme Energy

Go roller. There are things that can be done with the profile that a flat tappet can't do. You also run a large risk of flattening a lobe on break in with a flat tappet.
You also are going to have hood clearance issues with the victor Jr intake. As mutch as I hate the torquer intake, if you port match it and install it on the engine it will work quite well.

What Gordon said on the roller cam. Also, I would look for a higher LSA than 110 for any EFI system.

Thanks for the replys. Is there a specific size, or cam you recommend?

I was looking at the hydraulic cams to save dough. I could keep the rest of my valvetrain and only buy the cam, but having it run right is more important. Thanks
