Not sure of the best answer as I'm no expert, but I prefer the screw type terminals since it make a solid connection that won't come undone - used small lock washers on them.
Switches are rated for current so I typically used medium duty for my milliamp switches (I-squared) and heavy duty for anything that is going to carry 12V.
I use screw terminals. But I'm an AR engineer type.
Look at the amp ratings and match them to the current draw of your circuit.
I tend to buy aircraft quality switches. Pricey but you'll not have to worry about pulling a panel to replace a failed unit.
Most of your switches will probably be SPST. My hazard circuit uses a DPST.

I prefer the blade terminals. easier to install and remove.
SPST = single pole single throw. Good for on-off of one circuit
DPST = double pole single throw. Good for on-off of two circuits
SPDT = single pole double throw. Good for one circuit such as on-off-on.
If you Google switch terminology, you can get a more definitive answer.
For my upcoming Roadster build, I'm using Cole-Hersee toggle switches rated at 25A

I use Cuttler Hammer from McMaster Carr. Metal bat handle toggles just like NASCAR.
I use 0.250 spades and AMP crimp lugs.
These lugs work very well PROVIDED YOU USE GAGE APPROPRIATE LUGS.
I have used for years at a famious musical instrument company known for reliability and safety.
