Roundels - paint or decal

I'm getting closer to a plan...3 years into it you would have thought I had a vision already...

What did you do with regards to roundels and numbers?...I'm tempted to paint everything on but open to comments and advice...

Thanks

Marc

I was going to use vinyl but realized I would probably never find ones that matched the painted stripes.

Chris...that's what I was thinking. For those that are using (or used them)...

How long did they last?

Does it damage paint if left on for long periods (most of the time)?

Did you have them ON or OFF the car more?

Would you do it differently now?

Can you get just the numbers without the roundel (assuming the roundel is painted on)?

What supplier do you recommend?

Marc

I painted both roundels and numbers and do not regret. I used raceline digital for the masking stencils and used their stick ons for sponsor decals.

I used the cling vinyl from Finishline for my roadster. Had them on and off several times. Never lost one, nor did it leave any marks on the paint. The key to them is prep. Apply with soapy water, squeegie, and let dry for 24 hours.

I think I may follow Ryan's lead with painting the numbers, using the stickers for the other decals.

I plan on painting my roundels so the colors will match as Chris mentioned. I have Raceline Digital on the list a decal vendor. You can choose different fonts for your numbers and the have decal sets just for the type 65.

A good starting point:
Daytona Kits

The white on my Coupe is Ford Competition White. I painted the stripes and circle on the hood. The circles on the doors are white contact paper and they match, and all the numbers I made from black contact paper. I made them contact paper so I could take them off if I wanted to later. Send me your email address if you want to see pictures.
