Coupe #443 Progress & Question

Hi all,
I'm getting really close to finalizing. The body is in for final sanding and paint and there have been a few bumps along the way there. In the meantime, my wife, one son and I have had fun putting finishing touches on the interior and we're still there. A few photos here.

The big question: How have you guys attached your shoulder harnesses?? I don't have the tabs that used to be mounted and I'm looking for an ideal mounting point. How/where did you attach??

Of course the dash. Yes, the "suggestion" manual off to the right. Once again, not much help...

Thanks Chaz. Did you just clamp the webbing to itself around the bar?

not a very good pic, but you can see mine. the belts i got with the kit were made to wrap around the bar. the slide has 2 slots and 3 cross bars to loop the webbing through multiple times. you can look at this page from simpson http://simpsonraceproducts.com/safet...-installation/

Whatever you do, make sure your harness attaching points correct. Here is the Simpson Racing suggestions.

Hi Steve

Looking good. Congratulations on the progress.

Not much to add wrt shoulder restraints. I added head rests to the cross bar so I had to install brackets to the rear floor frame for the harness ...like the older coupes had.

Kcoupe: If you have the sholder belts all you have to do is take the mounting tab off and wrap the belt around the horizontal tub but pay close attention as to how the belt is laced throught the adjuster. It is laced in a pattern so that it will bite if it has a forward pull on it but easily adjusts if you pull it in the opposite direction. My Simpson belts came with an info sheet that diagramed this lacing process. I have an older kit and I wish I had this horizonal bar in my car, mine came with welded tabs that do not line up well with the seat.
