2nd Autocross in the LS Coupe

My 2nd event with the new setup went much better. The higher power level can be a handful. On this run I had too much rear brake bias which made for a pretty wild ride. By the end of the day I was on par with the best I had ever run with the old motor. I took 1st in XP and was 3 seconds off of FTD.

Thanks for the ride-along today Mike. Sounded like it was running well to me.

I've got a LOT of pictures from today (my friend Scott took some great pictures). I'll burn them to a DVD for you.

congrats, Mike
That didn't take long. Do you get the feeling that there is additional improvement to be had easily or is it mainly tuning?

I want to do something similar, mainly to have the car respond as well as it can, and so that I have a better idea about driving it near my limits.

Regards, Mike

That's cool, makes me want to go to an Auto-X. In looking at your pictures do you have an adjustible front sway bar? If you do set it on full stiff (as it transfers some weight to the rear of the car) add a prop valve for the rear for the next event.
Like your exhaust I just made the DB limit with my (restrictive) stock side pipes at my last event. More power more traction it's a great game!!
Thanks for posting:

Mark thanks for the pics and thanks for coming out to join in the fun day. I enjoyed having you take a lap with me. The lap with you was the 2nd fastest of the day so you got to see nearly all the capabilities of the car.

Mike not sure what you are asking, but the engine is as good as it can get without mods. I plan a new cam and head work in the future which will bump it to 500hp. The handling can always be improved upon. I currently need much more rubber in the rear. I plan for next season to run some 12" or 13" hoosier track only tires in the rear.

CB I have a 1" swaybar on the front only off a ford explorer which is non-adjustable. I run a CNC dual MC and adjusted the brake bias forward after the run I posted. The next few runs were much more tame, but 2 seconds faster. The 2.5" magnaflows really quieted the car down and made much more power. All the resonance while cruising is gone.
