Soon to be ordering my Coupe

I've been completed my Mk3.1, now I've set my sites on a Type 65 Coupe.

My Mk3.1 was a more comfort than raw using a Mach 1 with 22k miles as a donor.

For the Coupe, my plans are to make an every other day driver, with an occasional track day road corse or strip.

Motor: 351w stroked to 408ci or 427ci
Tranny: 5 speed ??
Rearend: live axle
Power steering
Power brakes (hydroboost if possible)
Not sure if I'm going the weber carbs or not, leaning towards not ($$$$)

This would be my first stroker motor/carb/coupe

Budget...haha... well will start at $35,000

Thanks in advance.

Russ, might want to see your Coupe again.

Robert

RRRCobraSC281,
I'm going to get things started!
"$35,000...haha" is right. That is very low! A dream, but you can try.
Welcome.

The $35,000 is what I told my wife to get the okay.

Maybe she hasn't learned from the Mk3.1 build.

You might want to think more along the lines of a stroked 302 if you are on a budget. You'll spend lots of money making the tall 351 fit. Hood mods etc.

Lightbulb

You might take a look at the engines offered in the advitersiers section above. I have a Roush 402-R in my Coupe which is a 351 based motor and had some problems getting it to fit. Added a hood scoop to clear the carb, headers are very tight. Motor is very strong makes great power and torque. The 351 based motors are heavier then the 302 based ones. I recommend you take a look at a 347 which will make the same power I have with lower weight. Check out Levy Racing, Keith Craft, and Mike at Forte's parts to mention a few. IMHO you are better off buying a motor then trying to build on your self, skip the webers and get a Holley HP PRO carb IMHO. While I'm spending your $$ Gorden Levy has a 5 link for a solid axle that is the ultimate solid axle set up. He also has a brake set up that you might consider.
PS I think if you add about 3-5 K to your build you can have one very nice, spooky fast car painted satin black.
Keep in touch:

347 is another thought since I already have a stock 5.0L roller motor from an 89 Lincoln Mark VII that I had rebuilt with with new Hypertechnic pistons, edelbrock top end kit. Just need to bore it out .020" and buy a forged 347ci rotating assembly and I'll be good.

I'll probably go with SRP to do the paint and fit, but still weighing my options.

Rich A.- Got the permission a few minutes before I posted on here.
