It means you're on I-20 headed into Mississippi, and since you posted in the Coupe forum you might be on the hunt for picking up a kit? If I knew what time you were heading past exit 71 on I-20 in Alabama, I'd give you a Coupe escort for a few miles.

Man you're good! I should be at Exit 71A or 71B (Tuscaloosa, Al) at about 9:30AM tomorrow morning, Sunday.. Tell me the name of a gas station at that location and I could just meet you and say "hi" and check out the Coupe, if it's not raining. I spent three hours today in the rain and finally called it a day in Meridian, MS. Headed to Asheboro, N.C.
I've been across that bridge several times myself.
I-20 through Jackson is the world's worst road.

Nice to meet you this morning, Joe! Good luck dragging that kit home!
Good to meet you too. Made it safe and sound to Charlotte, N.C. today. I was in rain for about 7 hours today. Hope to be loaded and headed back to Texas by 10-11AM tomorrow morning. Hopefully the weather will be a little better tomorrow.
Made it back about two hours ago. I drove straight through. I just got everything loaded into the garage. I'm BEAT, but I now own Coupe #539, so it was worth it!
This has been a very strange week for issued numbers. I received my Real Estate License and the number was 620000..
Now this Coupe is #539... My Roadster is #5392.. Pretty crazzy..
I've been across that bridge several times myself.

It wasn't all that bad on this trip. The worse stretch of road between Texas and N.C. was on I-20 through Shreveport and Bossier City. I was afraid the car was going to bounce off the trailer before I could get slowed down.
The second worse stretch of road was I-20 just east of Dallas.
The prior owner had it painted with a single stage silver. He said his painter was planning to spray it with clear after he had everything mocked up..??
One of my decisions is to decide if I'm going to leave it painted, or have it sand blasted and powder coated.
I scratched the heck out of the roll bars when putting the trunk aluminum floor back in place before transport. When I get time I'll be doing a little looking around in the Archives to figure out the trick to easily installing and removing the trunk floor aluminum piece.
CONGRATS JOE !
long drive...but looks great next to the roadster.
can you share what you are thinking for the build?
peace,
A

Hi Al,
I really haven't decided what I'm going to do. I really didn't have time to do any planning before buying. I still need to build a support structure for the body, figure out how to reorganize the garage, do a good inventory on the kit, decide on donor vs. salvage yard - etc.
I'm leaning towards a carb 331 stroker, but I need to see how much that is going to set me back. Just as I did with my Roadster, I'm determined to get this car built for much less money than what one would expect.
351 headers came with the kit. Once I know for sure that I'm going to stick with a 302 based block, I may give FFR a call and see if they would swap out the 351 headers for 302 headers at LCS.
Speaking of LCS, I'll see you there in a few weeks!
The easiest way to put the trunk floor back is what I and others did. Have a sheetmetal shop shear it down the middle (lengthways). weld a few pieces of flat bar in amoung the trunk square tubing and pop rivet the two pieces in place. Works great, believe me. Afterwards just touch up the areas where the welded joint is with spray paint. First off, no one can see these welds other than from below. And how many people will crawl under a car that sets off the ground 4 1/2 to inspect the chassis ??? Makes a lot less work and if you decide to add a "secret" compartment under the trunk, it is a lot easier to work on with the right half off and the left area with better access.

Thanks for the tip Bill.. Up until now I have spent almost no time here in the Coupe area. I have a lot to learn about these Coupes.
