Need help with a couple of sounds, please

I have no reference for what is normal with a Fox-era Mustang, so if these sounds are normal, great. I'd appreciate your insight, especially if these sounds are familiar to you.

I have a donor '93 Mustang motor and trans, running the donor's EFI. I have new Edelbrock performer heads and a new Cobra intake manifold. Side pipes are installed. Everything else is as stock as it gets in a Factory Five.

At 6-7 seconds, I think I'm hearing starter overrun. Grounds are good, bolts are tight, starter is new as is the flywheel (~500 miles ago). The sound is consistent every time I start it. Normal?

At about 19 seconds, I downshift from 5th to 4th to make the next sound easier to hear. It sounds like an old movie projector. You can hear it slow down when I'm in 5th. I thought it might be exhaust leaking, but when I changed the gaskets yesterday there was no change in the sound. Any ideas? Normal?

Shot this with a Flip videocam mounted upside down to the rollbar right next to the mirror. I think I'll be replacing the Flip. The sound drops out for an instant here and there. I don't know if the volume is overloading the mic, or if the GoPro is just calling my name.

Thanks for any help!

I can't help with the noises.

The Flip has much better sound than the GoPro. In many of my autocross videos I used the sound from the Flip and the video from the GoPro.

My droid has the old time phone ring. Maybe it's the sound effects from the flip cam! LOL

An exhaust noise will be correlated with engine load. Mashing the throttle at low RPMs should make it loudest, while lifting off the throttle should make it go away or nearly so.

I had a truck with a bad hydraulic lifter that made a very similar "ticking" sort of sound, but not dependent on load. It got louder at higher RPMs regardless of throttle position, and would usually go away once the engine warmed up.

starter over run

I have the same issue with the starter in my TVR, 302 with a t5. I noticed it after I turned the key while the engine was running once. the starter remains engaged for 4 or 5 seconds. I am going to loosen it up and try and reposition it a little if possible. I am also thinking of a thin shim between the starter and bell housing.
