Last week I made a major mod to my engine bay. Car is getting lighter all the time!

I think this thread is a great idea.

Today I did some practice driving so I'll be ready for when my Coupe gets finished. Wanted to make sure I could see out the back and sides for passing, so I drove from Santa Monica to San Diego and back...in my Christmas present.

5.0 Coupe with Bembro brakes up front with 19"s all around.

Nice! Welcome to the club!

I wish mine had the Brembo package. I didn't find out about it until the deal was almost done on mine - and then there weren't any available anywhere near by. I was too eager and couldn't wait.

Ouch!

I guess that's one of the advanages of having the car up on blocks...

Hope it's simple/cheap....

Neither simple nor cheap. I opened up the center section and the oil is full fine dust from the friction disks. Didn't see any physical damage to the gears or bearings. Going to ditch traction-lok and try Detroit tru-trac.

I visited Jeff Miller's paint shop in Temecula...actually yesterday but who's checking... to check it out and get some pricing. I have a few loose ends to finish AND I'm waiting for my rear glass.

I did drive back from LA today. Total milage was 1291 miles and used 54.3 gallons of fuel...23.7 mpg...can you believe that???? 408 hp and 1291 miles with at least 300 of that was city or slooooow LA freeway miles.

A FFR coupe with this motor (Coyote) would be really cool.

I made some progress on the engine today.
got the push rods and rocker arms installed today. Also redid the gasket on the oil pan, It got messed up on the first attempt of install. The cork gasket seemed to work much better, hopefully no leaks.

Engine swap. Out with the 351, and in with a hotter and much more radical 347.

Howdy,

Watched football.

I was 1-1. Go New York!

I did do a little engineering work on my Spyder. Engineering work is where a sit on my roll around stool, drink beer and eat in the shell roaster peanuts and try to figure out what to do next.

I walked past my Coupe a dozen times this weekend but haven't worked on her in about 7 months. There have been way more excuses for not working on her than good reasons to get anything done on her. What are unfinished Coupes worth these days? I keep saying "I'll work on it eventually..." but eventually never comes...

Speaking of wiring, I'm finally back to about 99% complete with my wiring. Good grief, what a pain it is when you lose/break just one grounding wire.

Never has Murphy's Law been more prevalent than when working on the wiring.

Got an email from FFR that my back ordered rear glass has shipped along with the hardware. Still working on "punch list" to get me to the "send to painter" milestone.

I really like this thread...I feel bad if I can't post something...which means I did something to move forward on the project.

So, actually yesterday, since I moved the T-Bird out I mopped and scrubbed the garage floor. The wife was giving me grief about tracking stuff into the house. Also, I reinstalled the gas tank and made the wiring for the backup lights. I bought the Mini Cooper backup light so now I need to decide if I mold it into the rear or just make a bracket and hang it off the bottom.

Chris

How are you wiring the minicooper light? Do you have the male end of the wiring plug for it?

What have I done...daydreamed about what to do when I have time to get in the garage...oh and make a list of more parts to order.

FLUGE:

The Mini Cooper light I have has two very small flat pins. I found two narrow female connectors in my electrical junk drawer.

Brought the coupe back from the body shop after having the doors and rear glass hatch fitted. Also had a vent fitting glassed into the large hood vent for airflow over the driver's side headers. Total was 47.5 hours!! Now about 24 items to do before complete dissassembly and shipping back to the shop for paint!!!
