I did the IRS axle inspection today. The width caliper to caliper is 1/4" too narrow, that's less than an 1/8" off per side. I'm choosing not to take the whole back suspension apart for an 1/8". Pulled the CV boots and everything looks good
I also reset the ride height. I'm going to get the alignment done next week.
I'm headed to the DMV tomorrow morning to get the Coupe registered and licensed. All the paper work and inspections have been completed. Keeping my fingers crossed...it is the DMV after all.
All legal and registered and I got some plates so I can go run around the neighborhood. Boy is that a load off my mind. I got my SB100 in 2009 and have been back three times to pay annual registration fees (and late penalties). Last time I was there I was told I had to get it registered before the end of the year because they were running out of room on the form...I'm serious, they said I would have to start over if I didn't get it completed prior to January 2013.

Congratulations Chris...you certainly kept up a pretty good pace there for the last 12 months...nicely done. Be sure to stay on-line...us slower folk will still need guidance

Livermore, I'd love to run over there but I still have some work to do before I really take it out on the road...radiator shrouds, wheel well aluminum, pontoon supports, speedo doesn't work AND I think I may have a head gasket problem...I'm pumping out a lot of water on very short runs around the neighborhood.
Used to have a couple Bultacos. My favorite was a Pursang.

Dropped my engine off at the engine shop last night!
Will drop my tranny next for a referb. Then I'll be able to put my drive train together and put in the frame.

Installed the radiator, fans, and upper radiator hose.
Working on the coolant expansion tank and lower rad hose.
I got the coolant tank from RockAuto.com. It's from a 1999 Ford Windstar minivan. I ordered it Monday afternoon and it got here today. Pretty fast service.

I drove the crap out of mine. Been cloudy and rainy and generally crappy, it was 70 and sunny today so it was on. 150 miles or so, coming up on 1000 miles so maybe I can get some graduation photos up since its been done for 1.5 years now.

The last thing I did to mine, was to free up the brakes and get it rolling again. Light surface rust on the rotors caused just enough friction for it not wanting to roll.

Very cool Wayne. I like your blog. Now I know what "kh6wz" is. You may want to be extra careful in your garage.... Don't let the Coupe and Prius touch. You know, electrons and positrons and what not.

Nothing fancy, I was basically checking out all my "engineering" and wiring skills.
Ford never made a distributorless 351W so it's not just a plug-n-play process.
I'm planning to go-cart on Halloween so I still have a lot of work left to do.
