Talking We're in!!!

Placed the order this morning, scheduled for delivery in the middle of June. I'm expecting to have the donor stripped and everything prepped/rebuilt before then.

Nice going Mr. Shaw.

Is that delivery date your choice or based on FFR's production?

My choice. I wanted time to get the donor prepped and the debris disposed of before the Coupe shows up. Oh yes, I wanted to get the free brake upgrade also so the order need to go in now.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Welcome to this adventure. If you have some patience and a warped sense of humor you will do just fine and have some fun while building the car and hanging around here.

Oh yes, let me introduce the other part of the 'WE', my brother and partner in crime - Stephen.

Stephen and I have been through a lot of cars, probably 20 Porsches alone and various others. We've been running a Porsche 928 with the p-club for the past 6 years or so, starting stock and upgrading as we went. Our street legal (barely) 928 is now a 5.0L supercharged beast, no interior, roll bar in place of the rear seats, racing seats & 5 point harnesses. We've been running all over the northeast with it playing on various tracks.

Now we're in for a Daytona Coupe. This should be fun!

Oh yes, the Audi he's referring to is my wife's A6 wagon, my current project. It died due to crud in the engine at 137k miles, 2k miles after I bought it. Now it's in 'exploded view' as I clean out all the gunk and put it back together again. It's always something.

Bill

PS - we're going to need a body buck for a Coupe. Anybody have one they're about to throw out?

Welcome to this madness Bill. I bet I've seen a 928 around at the tracks, NHS was one track....I think. I was with the silver Noble. I shaped out a new tail on the Noble, so we are at most of the track days for testing. I'll try and look you up! Bill Hough

Welcome to the Madness! I just licensed my Coupe, after a brief 19 month build. Still have a thousand things to do on it. (Do NOT look at Russ' build, or any of the other fanatics that haunt this forum, or you will stuck where I am: playing an endless game of catch-up with guys that have way-too good of a head-start. And skills.) Seriously though, if you have any questions, or need help in spending your money, this is the place to go. Good luck!

Do you go to NHIS. I would love to see the 928 run. I've owned a number of 911s, the last was a turbo. I live an hour north of the track and go there often to do motorcycle track days for my own fun and business, two friends and I are partners in a motorcycle track school. We do primarily NHIS but we will have 2 days at course Tremblant@ Tremblant Canada. I took the coupe, in stealth form, to NHIS for a track day last Oct. with a number of friends that own 911s. There were 15 of us, we had plenty of room to play. Please, give me a heads up if you go to NHIS, I'd love to take a gander.

Hi Roy,

I've been to NHIS (NHMS now?) 6 or 8 times. It's not my favorite track, lots of really hard stuff really close to the track. Love the Gs in the carousel. Last time I was there I finally got the car rotating properly entering 12. I'll probably make it up for a p-club event this summer, I'll let you know if I do.
