This is how I decided to provide access to the fuel tank etc. I got an aluminum hinge from Aircraft Spruce and riveted it in. Its very flexible, but still groans when I open and close the hatch since the floor is not perfectly level. Hopefully it will be fine since I shouldn't be opening it much.
