You have converted to carb and since removed the EFI manifold or converted the EFI manifold to accept a carb?

Edit: Let me clarify that I am interested.

Is it an Explorer manifold or GT40? If GT40 I'm interested.

Jeff,

I thought the later Explorer manifold was considered a GT-40 manifold with the alternating tubes running into the lower manifold as the '93 Cobra manifold did.

On the Explorer from early '97 through '01.

No George, the GT40, Cobra and Explorer intakes are all different hence my question to the seller.

GT40

Explorer

Cobra

The '93 & '94/'95 Cobra intakes, as well as the GT40, flow ~11-12% more than the Explorer on average.

Here are some flow numbers in CFM. The first 8 numbers are each individual runner, the bold number is the average.

Intake 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8, Average

Stock 5.0: 123 140 142 145 119 139 133 150 136

GT-40: 186 202 202 204 182 197 198 201 197

'93 Cobra: 187 203 200 200 188 206 207 208 200

'94-'95 Cobra: 184 200 197 198 186 206 206 207 198

Explorer: 169 180 176 180 177 177 183 183 178

The Explorer intake is often touted as being equal to the GT40 and Cobra units however the numbers indicate otherwise. That said, whether you'd feel much "seat of the pants" difference is open to debate.

I'll take some pictures of mine from a 2000 Explorer.

Where does the GT-40 manifold come from? Who produced it and for what car?

GT40 tubular intake was a FRPP item from the get-go. It wasn't OE on anything.

I am pretty sure the GT40 intake (the tubular one) was OE on the 1993-4 Ford Lightning. They were also available from FRPP. I bought one on eBay a few years ago. The Explorer intakes are often called "GT40" but they are not the same as the pictures above show.

True, the Lightning and FRPP GT40 uppers are very much alike but of course the lowers are not the same between a 302 and 351. The intake used on Explorers is not the same as the GT40 just like an apple is not the same as an orange.

Anyway, back on topic the lack of response from the OP leads me to believe that the manifold is either sold or NOT a true GT40.
