Thumbs up 75 ohm 3 watt Resistor

I am looking for a 75 ohm 3 watt resistor to eliminate my charcoal canister purge solenoid. I can't find one locally and am hoping someone bought them in bulk and has a spare. Please let me know.

Thanks,
Doug

Unfortunately, Radio Shack does not. Maybe back in the 80's. Their inventory on individual components has drastically decreased over the years.

Doug,
if Alan doesn't have any, I imagine most dedicated electronics store would have them. Or perhaps Fry's in Manhattan Beach? I also found a website here: RESISTOR 3 WATT 75 OHM 5% PER 2PK
They have them for $1.05

Look at didgikey or mouser electronics online.

Talking Ohms Law 101

If finding the "exact" 75 Ohm resistors is the issue, you can always solder two 150 Ohm resistors in parallel to get 75 Ohms . . .

... and you'd only need 1.5W resistors...

Or get a 5W 75ohm; but it will cost you $4.52

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...me=805F75RE-ND

Mount to chassis for "heat sink".

What is this for, BTW? It's only 200mA @ 15V (worst case)...

Cheers,

Jim
