I am within a day's drive, and I have an empty trailer. But in my mind, it is a very basic donor build, and if a person were to pay 16, then do some upgrades, transmission, brakes, shocks, dash, gauges, etc, where would you stop putting money into a car that may only sell for mid to high 20's ?

Unless a person would already own all of the parts to do the upgrades, it would probably be slim pickings to do this for a flip.

Or, buy it for 16 and do a really good detail job then take it to auction as is, hoping to get into the low 20's, but that might be a tough sell with an automatic.

Best option is for someone who wants to get into a cobra on the cheap and then do the upgrades as time and funds allow

With better placement of the for sale ad, this car should sell easily.

My thoughts are for someone to buy it, drive and enjoy it for a few years, then sell it for 20k or more, if they wanted to. I don't understand why someone would do a lot of upgrades to try and flip it. That seems like a lot of car for the price.

Oh, and automatics can be a lot of fun and much less tiresome in traffic. People forget lot's of originals were automatic, including the supersnakes.

I don't see the description but think I see three pedals in the dash photo.

And it sure looks like the stick shift handle as well.

Interesting

I was thinking the same thing with the 3 pedals, may have to go take a look this weekend. It is only 120 miles away...

New car for me

Looked at this car today, it didn't follow me home immediately, but it will be coming home soon.

I haven't seen that many of these finished in the flesh, but this one looks well built. The current owner is the original builder. He owned a hot rod and custom shop for many years, it was built there.

It was originally a manual transmission, but was changed to AOD recently. That may be the confusion with some of the pictures, must have been older pictures (there are actually 3 pedals still in there the clutch is just tied to the firewall). The owner's wife didn't like the manual so he changed to the automatic.

For the price I couldn't pass it up, it could use a little TLC and I think going back to 5 speed is a must, but the price makes it a lot easier to justify any changes I want to make.

Thanks for the heads up on this one Ken, I owe you one!

Shawn
