Want to Buy MkIII; $20-25k prefer west coast or southwest

I've always been a fan of the FFR cobra's and doing some research I realize my budget(low-mid $20k's) will likely fetch a good donor. My preferences are Silver paint with or without stripes, disc brakes, ONLY driver side roll-bar, chrome accents, period correct style parts like wooden steering wheel and 17" cobra wheels.

Goal is just a reliable street car, enjoy on the weekends and such.

I'm not in any rush, and given I live here in Seattle area, we're just about to exit our great weather season in another 3 wks or so. Hoping to find a beauty between now and early spring '13.

If anyone has a MkIII that sounds in this range and currently/will be looking to sell...please let me know.

-Ethan

For sake of reference - There was a vid someone posted in one of the threads I came across of the ideal MkIII in terms of color and usability.

I believe Griffin was the owner's name and it was a Bay area or NorCal car. 225-250hp with silver Mazda paint I think.

With the exception of the roll bar, this sounds like what you're looking for: Mark 3.1 Titled as 1965 Roadster

Thanks for the link and great FFR you have there. I'm hoping to find one though with lower mileage engine, and really prefer the single driver side roll bar.

Thinking of selling mine in order to build another. Matches your specs except for: 15" Hallibrands and front discs, rear drums, MKII (FFR5004), 2004 build, initially registered in California, currently registered in Arizona where I now live (Prescott):

Pepper gray metallic w/ blk metallic stripes (Oakland Raider colors), wood steering wheel, classic gauges, black leather interior (I would change-out the FFR-supplied carpeting for something more plush), new 5.0 short block 2004, EFI (11, 700 miles) with GT40 upper/lower intake, 24# injectors, 65mm TB, 70mm MAF meter, coil-overs. Price would have to be at the top of your range, as I have $40k+ into it ($7400 in bodywork/paint alone), but I'm anxious to build again.

Runs great, footboxes cool due to dynamat and Thermo mat throughout cockpit.

Will send pick on request to your e-mail. Mine is : dalegthomas@aol.com.

Today is the first time I've been on the Forum for a few years, as I've decided to sell.
