MKIII in NorCal

Factory Five Mk III ‘65 Roadster Replica

As a kid, this was my dream car. I started this project 5 years ago. Now, I have fulfilled my childhood fantasy and it’s time to move on. The project was extremely fun and the Cobra community was an invaluable asset. They were generous with their knowledge and support. In today’s world it is refreshing to deal with people that just want to help. This vehicle was a labor of love. I used all new parts and had a professional mechanic go over and certify all my work. It is SB100 California registered, so is smog certification exempt for life. It now has 2000+ road tested miles. It is time to pass this beautiful car on so someone else can fulfill their childhood dream.

cobra for sales still?

I am in San Diego. Still for sale? Any roof? Flexible in price?
How could one sell a childhood dream? Sorry for asking!

Car is still for sale.

Price is negotiable within reason.

The dream was to build, own and drive this beautiful car. I have lived that dream now. If I had unlimited garage space I would keep it, but a growing family warrants compromise.

hi dude:

Kenny is a personal friend of mine, and he had a rip-roaring riot driving my car around last night, whetting his appetite for a FFR.

this guy runs Ducati's at Willow Springs at near 200mph so i totally trusted him. not that didn't scare me a few times, though.

a few questions:
  • i see your dual master cylinder setup in another post, but are your brakes power or manual? they look manual
  • looks like you have manual steering, is that correct?
  • what is your rear end gear ratio?
  • what is your final gear ratio in the TKO? trying to get an idea of RPM at cruising range. if you know ???? rpm at 70mph, that's cool.
  • do you still have the standard quickjacks lying around?
  • with your TKO, if the angled shifter was bolted on, do you think it will interfere with the cupholders?

Eddie, I just spoke with Alvin (the seller) and the brakes are manual and no power steering. I think I read he has 3:55 but I could be wrong... ALVIN? That's all I got, thanks Eddie for helping out...

I'm going to forward this to my nephew to see if he's interested (he's in San Jose just off Capitol Expressway). He recently drove my FFR last week at the annual EA Car Show (he's waited 6 years for this) and now he's really bit on the Cobra. The price seems to be in his ballpark so I'll point him here and see if he's interested.
