Starter suggestions

Hey guys,

Need some recommendations on starters. Motor will be finished in a few weeks. First want all in one, no external solenoids. Motor is a 427w with 10.71 to 1 compression. not sure what other info you will need. Battery is in the trunk (XPS w/750 CCAMPS.

Thanks

Greg

stock 93 Mustang 5.0. It's a high torque mini with the relay built on.

Greg:

Be sure that the bendix will reach the ring gear on the flywheel on whatever starter you buy. I ran into this on my roadster with the PMGR starter I bought. Thankfully, the vendor took it back on exchange for the correct one.

DB Electric

Another vote for DB Electrical. I've had theirs on my 427w for several years.

With a trunk mounted battery you may also want to consider heavier gauge battery cables. They help eliminate the dreaded 'hot start' or 'heat soak' issues several of us have dealt with over the years. FWIW Ihave double 00 cables.
A little overkill maybe, but some have said that about having a 427 in a 2350 lb roadster😬
