As some of you know my inspiration was csx 2367. I came across this picture csx2367 which I think is from the Montery show. Coincidentially with the same pose as mine. I think I hit it. Whacha tink? My pic was taken on a very overcast day so the paint does not pop.

Again, outstanding job! I've looked at both pictures- which is which? ;-)
Any comments from Mr. Smith?
Thanks for sharing- BTW, you DID nail it!

Besides the wheel lips being shallower on your car, and some very minor nit picky items, I think you did one hell of a job. I give it a 98.5 out of 100.

door gap is off and the side emblem looks to be off a 1/4". I think you should throw away the project and try again... LOL.
GREAT WORK!

Wow, that is impressive!! The few things I noticed (not being critical since it is an incredible job) are the shape of the front bumper, the height of the seats and handles for the hood appear to be shorter (lower to the hood).
That pic is from Carmel by the sea (Monterey car week), I can myself and my wife in the back ground. Nice job, a ton of work, or a couple of tons. Richard.
Need help finishing your project we can help here or at your shop.

The biggest variation I can see from that pic is how high the seats are (and/or, how low the body is) on the original. They actually kiss the rear edge of the cockpit.
The other thing isn't all that noticeable in the pic but I know it's there is the way the body tucks under on the originals where FFR-based cars don't.
Stunning cars!

Really Bill ??, wheel lips being shallower , they look about the same to my untrained eye. The body comes from Mr. Bruce in a totally raw state right from the mold. The hood, doors and trunk lid come in two pieces and have to be fitted trimmed and glued together. The body openings were the same way and had to be cut, shaped and trimmed. I worked from internet pics and from books that I have.
I could never make an exact replica nor was that my intent. I made it the best that I could, and I'm pleased. Thanks, 98.5 out of a 100 ain't bad, even tho I wasn't trying for a 100

Michael, you work with what you have. The cockpit, floorpans and rear bulkhead are different. I'm 6'2" and my head is right at the top of the windshield. I guess I could make a seat platform to raise them, but then I'd be killing bugs with my forehead. I guess we're never really finished are we? And yes the body does tuck under as the originals.

Very cool to have two pics like that!
Cheers, Rod
Rod, my bumper is a reproduction. It has the top bow but doesn't have the bow on the bottom. They used to be available from Cobra Restorers but no more. This is the only one they carry now. The seats are lower than an original. (see my response to Mike D). As far as the handles, I think it's the different angle.
Thanks all,
John O

Same reason I got rid of my Corbeau seats and went with the FFR models. I'm 6' and was looking right at the top of the windscreen frame with the CBs.
Are the FFR seats that much shorter than the originals?

Interesting. So Bruce has to cut and move the outer 2x2s?

HHmmm, John, I am not talking about the body , LOOK at the front left wheel and you'll see what I am talking about.
I'm surprised "Da Mook" did not point this out to you

Ah Ha, gotcha. I read it too fast. See what happens when your old and read without your glasses. That was intentional as I didn't want the wheels to extend outside the fender. I wanted them inside the wheelwell. "Da Mook" would'nt have known the difference anyway. He only knows 427's, and not very well.

Great job, John. The only thing I can see is that the FFR has a bit more depth than the original (better for us Colonials than those Limey blokes). Definitely my favorite build. Congrats.

Absolutely great,,,and yes. John it's not perfect. as everyone has pointed out but don't let that bother you as your friends have turned it into a "Where's Waldo" contest.
I. too. could find minor differences but absolutely love it as I was also "Wowed" by your first build too.
Nice job John

Nailed it! I was doing some work with my friend last week who is the guy that will be painting my car (one day) and has done lots of work on various Concours caliber vehicles and participants. When we went to lunch I showed him the pic of your car and strung him on a bit before telling him it was a FF5. He was pretty blown away. You took it the next level. Awesome work.
