Sort of soft core but good enough for me.
This thing has been a pain. Its a 347 suppose to have been built by DSS in the Coupe I bought sight unseen off of Cobra Country, but it runs excellent etc. etc. Story was it came with a dyno sheet pumping 547 HP and 510 ft lbs Tq at the flywheel. Well it came with the sheet and that's about it. When the car arrived it died in the driveway and the Mallory Unilite distributor was bad. I gave the previous owner the benifit of the doubt because of Unilites track history. After a new dizzy it wouldnt pull over 3 grand and was extremely rich. 16 lbs of fuel pressure worth. Put on a regulator, changed the oil and got it running pretty good but no 547 hp worth of good. Took a short 50 mile round trip and consumed a quart of oil. I pulled the engine and it was toast. Totally unbelievable! The bottom ring on the wave ring gland was missing on all 8 cylinders, and the block was completely used up. Fuel wash down, detonation and scored cylinders. I ended up buying a new bare block from DSS, salvaged the rotating assembely and did about $900 woth of machine work. Found alot more stuff wrong like the timing pointer was off about an inch (detonation?). Needless to say the scum bag that sold this to me won't answer my calls or emails! Anyway after a few thousand dollars here she is ready to go back in just in time for Coupe weather.
I forgot to add the specs DSS level 10 CNC'd block 347ci, DSS main support system, Victor Jr heads 2.05 int 1.60 exh, Forged internals, X303 Ford cam, Scorpion roller rockers, Torker II intake topped with a 700 Holley. I saved a bigger cam and a ported Victor Jr intake in case I want to pump it up some more.

Sorry for the heartache you had to go thru though.

I saw some mini straight through mufflers on a Briggs & Stratton that might fit and should pass the DOT inspection. Maybe… That looks great. If it will run half as good as it looks, hang on to your shorts…
Sorry to hear about the heartache but man, you really made the most of the situation. That engine is beatiful!

I had to come back and look again...will those valve covers fit with higher profile rockers? If so...where can I get some?

I had to run a 1 3/8" spacer. If you look below the valve cover and the head you can see them. Other than that they're just standard 289 hi-po valve covers.
