Just purchased FFR1708K, looking for who built it and when, past owners, appears to be onr of the first Independent rear , 428 dual quads, red w/white stripes and white side pipes. Please email or call me at batkat1000@roadrunner.com 419-350-9266
Have you called FFR? They should have the frame registered to the original builder and then go from there... I'm not sure if they will release the originals name- maybe sone legal thing or something ... But maybe- good luck !!

Frank; what else do you know about it? I talked to Southern Hot Rods who sold it last year, Wendel advised that it was on the FFR site showing the build but I could not find it. Did the guy in Mass build it , if so how can I contact him? I like documentation on all my cars. I have an aluminum bodied 4000 series Carroll Shelby w/ 427FE in yellow and I want to clone this car to my original as a driver. any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks

John built it in 1999. It was the first IRS chassis FFR produced. Here's a link to March 2002 picture of the month that has more info. His screen name was johnnyb26. Try sending him an e-mail or private message.
Frank
Factory 5 wont release the info to you but the original owner can call them and tell them to give it to you. Went through the same thing this summer.
I got virtually no info on the car when I bought it. I've started a file on the car and as I get more info it goes into the booklet. Hopefully whoever gets it next will have a lot more info than I had. One particular issue I had was the oil capacity, original owner said 9 qts with filter. Two Ford mechanics said 12 qt. I swapped the pan out so I can be sure, it was a 12 qt pan. I was able to locate and talk to the original owner so information is starting to flow. Good luck with your search.
Hi, i think John moved to Fl. a few years ago , he built a very nice car and spared no expense in the build
regards Bob

You can also just scroll to the bottom of this page and type "johnnyb26" in the Google Custom Search box. It looks like John built one heck of a car. Congratulations on your purchase.
